The Saudi Indian Healthcare Forum (SIHF), Jeddah chapter, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, hosted an insightful session focused on the health benefits of fasting. The event featured expert speakers who shared their knowledge on various aspects of fasting, providing valuable information to the attendees.

Dr. Ashraf Amir, President of SIHF and Executive Director at the International Medical Center (IMC), opened the session with a talk on the general health benefits of fasting. He highlighted the positive impacts fasting can have on overall well-being and how it can be incorporated into a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Khaja Yaminuddin, a Diabetes Care Specialist from King Abdulaziz Hospital, Taif, discussed fasting in relation to diabetes management and the concept of intermittent fasting. His presentation offered practical advice for those with diabetes on how to safely fast, as well as insights into the benefits of intermittent fasting for blood sugar control and overall health.

Dr. Farheen Taha, Principal at MedInscribe – BioQuest Solutions, covered the important topic of fasting and oral health. She provided guidance on how to maintain good oral hygiene during fasting and the impact of fasting on oral health, ensuring that attendees understood the connection between their dietary practices and dental care.

The event, held on Thursday, 7th March 2024, at the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, was well-attended by members of the Indian community and other healthcare professionals. The session provided a platform for sharing knowledge and promoting healthier fasting practices within the community.
