In recognition of the clinics' and healthcare groups' participation in the medical camp held in observance of World Diabetes Day, mementos were presented to the participating clinics. The mementos were distributed by the honorable Consul General, H.E. Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, highlighting the strong collaboration between the healthcare community and the Consulate. SIHF Jeddah Chapter, under the supervision of the Consulate General of India, Jeddah, successfully organized more than 20 medical camps, which aimed to raise awareness about diabetes and provide essential health services to the community.
As part of the World Diabetes Day observance and the visit of Hon. Smt. Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, the Saudi Indian Healthcare Forum (SIHF) Jeddah Chapter hosted a panel discussion on 15th November 2022 at the Indian International School, Jeddah.
In connection with the World Diabetes Day observation, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India and the SIHF Jeddah Chapter, 25+ medical camps were organized across various locations. Over 2,500 people were screened, focusing on raising awareness about diabetes prevention, early detection, and management. The Saudi Indian Healthcare Forum (SIHF), Jeddah Chapter, successfully held a Blood Donation Camp on 19th October at the International Medical Center (IMC), Jeddah. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Jemshith Ahmed, General Secretary of SIHF Jeddah, followed by an introduction to the importance of blood donation by Dr. Iqbal Musani, Vice President of SIHF Jeddah. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Mohammed Abdul Jaleel, Consul Haj at CGI Jeddah, who highlighted how blood donation saves lives and strengthens community bonds. During the felicitation ceremony, Mr. Qadar Zada, COO of IMC, and Dr. Ahmed Wasay Shaikh, Registrar of Clinical Pathology at IMC, honored key participants for their valuable contributions. Tokens of appreciation were given to all the donors and contributors. Dr. Faheem Rahman, Treasurer of SIHF Jeddah, concluded the event with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the participants and supporters. Following the formal function, many volunteers enthusiastically participated in the blood donation session. Executive committee members, including Dr. Mujiburahman, Dr. Kavita Manuswamy and the coordinator Muhammed Sabith led the program.

SIHF Participates in Welcome Reception for Newly Appointed Indian Consul General in Jeddah, HE Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri The Saudi Indian Healthcare Forum, Jeddah chapter, had the privilege of participating in a warm welcome reception organized for the newly appointed Consul General of India in Jeddah, His Excellency Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri. The event marked the beginning of his tenure in Jeddah and was attended by distinguished members of the Indian community, including representatives from SIHF. During the reception, SIHF members extended their best wishes to HE Fahad Khan Suri, expressing their eagerness to collaborate and continue fostering strong ties between the Indian community and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in the healthcare sector. Prior the event an excellent opportunity to introduce the new Consul General to the initiatives and goals of SIHF, as well as to discuss potential future collaborations. SIHF looks forward to working closely with HE Fahad Khan Suri and supporting the Indian community in Jeddah through various healthcare initiatives and events.
The SIHF Jeddah chapter had the honor of participating in a farewell event organized by the Indian Community Jeddah (ICJ) for the outgoing Consul General of India, HE Mohd Shahid Alam. The event celebrated the Consul General’s successful tenure and his contributions to the Indian community in Saudi Arabia. During the ceremony, the SIHF team, led by President Dr. Ashraf Amir and General Secretary Dr. Jemshith Ahmed, presented a letter of appreciation to HE Mohd Shahid Alam. This gesture symbolized the Forum’s gratitude for his efforts to strengthen the bonds between India and Saudi Arabia, particularly in the healthcare sector.
The SIHF- Jeddah chapter, in collaboration with the Consulate General of India, hosted an insightful session focused on the health benefits of fasting. The event featured expert speakers who shared their knowledge on various aspects of fasting, providing valuable information to the attendees. Dr. Ashraf Amir, President of SIHF and Executive Director at the International Medical Center (IMC), opened the session with a talk on the general health benefits of fasting. He highlighted the positive impacts fasting can have on overall well-being and how it can be incorporated into a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Khaja Yaminuddin, a Diabetes Care Specialist from King Abdulaziz Hospital, Taif, discussed fasting in relation to diabetes management and the concept of intermittent fasting. His presentation offered practical advice for those with diabetes on how to safely fast, as well as insights into the benefits of intermittent fasting for blood sugar control and overall health. Dr. Farheen Taha, Principal MedInscribe at BioQuest Solutions, covered the important topic of fasting and oral health. She provided guidance on how to maintain good oral hygiene during fasting and the impact of fasting on oral health, ensuring that attendees understood the connection between their dietary practices and dental care. The event, held on Thursday, 7th March 2024, at the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, was well-attended by members of the Indian community and other healthcare professionals. The session provided a platform for sharing knowledge and promoting healthier fasting practices within the community.
SIHF medical volunteers are actively involved in Govt. of India's Operation Kaveri, where they are dedicatedly providing essential medical services and support to individuals rescued from the conflict-affected areas of Sudan. This committed team comprises doctors, nurses, and other paramedical staff who have been working for nearly two weeks in accordance with the instructions provided by the authorities and officials overseeing the operation.

A memorandum of understanding was signed at the ceremony with Healspoc Company from Bengaluru, India and Salam Healthcare in Jeddah to cooperate in the field of health tourism. SIHF General Secretary Dr. Jemshith Ahmed introduced the website and spoke about its features and how it would facilitate ties between India and Saudi Arabia in the medical sector.
